Visa is developing a blockchain system


Visa continues to further develop and integrate blockchain technology

  1. The company is now looking to
  2. hire several new jobs to help it
  3. implement its crypto products roadmap.


According to a Twitter post from Cuy Sheffield, head of encryption at Visa

The business has a challenging roadmap for its crypto products.


For senior software developers, it has just posted a number of new job openings to aid in the mainstream adoption of public blockchain networks and stablecoin payments.


A tweet from Sheffield indicates that Visa is particularly interested


Candidates with knowledge of writing and editing smart contracts using Github Copilot and other AI-enabled engineering tools.


The job announcement said:

The next generation of cryptocurrencies is being developed by Visa.

products to facilitate trade in digital and mobile life for all."


We employ experienced software engineers who are brilliant programmers

  1. They have experience in
  2. building scalable systems and a passion
  3. for a range of Web3. techniques 


In order to "improve engineering productivity, efficiency, effectiveness, and software quality," Visa is seeking team members.


Writing quality code across different programming languages; document design preferences and long-term engineering decisions. "


As evidence of the changing labour market since Covid hit

Visa has made the situation mixed

staff are expected to work in the office for a specific 2-3 days of

Other qualifications for this position include having

a good understanding of the first and second class solutions


Solidity-based smart contract writing experience


  • good understanding of public and authorized DLT networks
  • security protocols and private key nursery
  • and familiarity with Ethereum improvements such as ERC -4337.


This development contrasts with earlier rumours that Visa and Mastercard were considering pausing the development of new blockchain-related products and collaborations.


Even conditions in the broader crypto market

are experiencing meaningful improvements.


While many companies are looking to integrate the encryption technology already developed, Visa is one of the few to have sought to lead the way in new development proposals.


In December :

  1. Visa's team of researchers and engineers released
  2. a smart self-guarding portfolio contract application on
  3. the Ethereum blockchain


which can enable programmable payment instructions

such as automated invoice payments through a bank account.


On the commercial side :

Visa partnered with JPMorgan last October to streamline cross-border payments through the use of Liink and B2B Connect's own blockchain networks.


The service is now fully operational in 10 countries and is expected to increase its presence to more than 30 by the end of 2023.

In February :

  1. Visa signed a long
  2. term strategic global partnership
  3. with the Wirex encrypted payments platform


to expand cryptocurrency payments that support Visa in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) and the United Kingdom.
