Secret list on iPhone unlocks hidden features!
The Secret List hidden inside Apple's iPhone can only be accessed by entering codes using the digital keyboard.
The list includes information such as whether your calls are forwarded, how strong the signal genuinely is, and a phone number to secure your smartphone, among other things.
To access these functions, you can type a series of numbers and codes into your phone's calling software as if you were about to call a number.
- In most cases
- to activate it
- you will need to press "contac
- leading to an existing page.
Confidential codes are based on unregulated supplementary service data
(USSD)
a communications protocol that
allows devices to connect to the network, usually used by technicians.
Invented in 1997, USSD provides information to your phone (such as the amount of balance left) via the old GSM network.
These are the "quick codes" that are most regularly used.
- "feature codes" or "engineer codes"
- and are usually specific to certain networks
- and devices (although some are almost universal).
Here are some great features that you can unlock with the icons on your iPhone.
Discover your real signal power
The tapes shown by your phone to indicate signal strength are often a fairly rough estimate - but the code on your iPhone enables you to enter the field test mode for verification.
- To do this, type
- 3001 # 12345 #
- in your phone connection software
- (Wi-Fi is best turned off first).
From there :
you will see a lot of (very) technical data about your phone: within LTE RsrpRsrqSinr, you will be able to see information about your phone connection.
Under Rsrp :
Your signal strength ought to be visible.
Level -40 means strong contact and -140 is weaker.
Hide your caller's identity
To hide your caller ID when making a call (so that the person you call cannot see who you call), you can type the USSD code before the number you want to call.
This function is network
dependent :
hence it might not be offered by all networks or on all plans.
See if your calls are redirected
You can check if your calls are redirected (this is usually to your voicemail, but you can also check if someone has set up your calls to redirect them elsewhere).
For your reorientation settings, type USSD * # 67 #.
Activate call blocking :
You can simply enable call blocking (which blocks incoming calls) by entering USSD.
To verify that call blocking is enabled, type * # 33 #.
To enable it :
you'll need a SIM PIN (if you don't know it, contact the network provider).
To enable call blocking, enter * 33 * SIM PIN #. To disable it, enter # 33 * pin #.
Convert your calls to another phone
To convert your calls to another phone, you can simply enter the USSD code.
To do this :
type * 21PHONENUMBER #, and the phone will start converting your calls.
This varies by network, so if you receive an error message, use * 72 instead of * 21.
To turn it off again, type * 21 #.
