How blockchain technology
can help with football
How blockchain technology can help with football
Engaging fans was one of the hot topics at the recent World Football Summit.
In addition to
maintaining the interest of current club fans
several committees discussed how to engage new fans
around the world and the younger generation of digital citizens.
- All clubs
- wherever they may be
- realize that they have a global presence
and that many of their fans will never attend a game in their stadium.
They are focused on
attracting new fans from other parts of
the world and maintaining their interaction.
Ollie Dale
the commercial director of Arsenal
said:
"Arsenal has become a global club."
He and his team were surprised that the Premier League club now
had twice as many fans in the United States as their native England.
Dale said the club had a comprehensive plan to keep fans engaged
including many digital and virtual experiences.
Tim Jagger
- CEO of Eintracht Tech
- spoke about how his company built an app to
- manage interactions with Frankfurt's Intrachet fans.
The app allows them to track players' interests
and has built-in features such as ticket solutions and an e-commerce store.
They also focus on
bringing new fans to the club from concerts
and other sporting events at the stadium.
Nadia Ben-Mukhtar
head of brand development at Paris Saint-Germain
realized that a strong identity was essential when building a brand.
Its club focuses on promoting specific values such as respect
and humility as well as excellence, innovation and empowerment.
She acknowledged that "95% of fans are abroad and will never come to Paris"
highlighting the need for digital experiences.
The second session
which included speakers from football media companies
and some prominent figures from established and emerging clubs
focused on many of the same issues.
Everyone acknowledged the need to keep fans around the world interested
and everyone stated the need to
make data-driven decisions to promote participation.
Perfect use
case for blockchain technology
It is likely that those with an understanding of
BSV blockchain have already discovered several
ways they can be used to help football clubs achieve their goals.
Data has been at the heart of all discussions
and there is no better way to ensure the integrity of
data than to use the unchangeable ledger to ensure that
it is not tampered with, stolen or altered in any way.
While club-marked apps
should always be the front end with which fans interact
As for participation
a previous session entitled
"Global Access and Monetization using Web 3 Metaverse Digital Twins"
covered how to create 3D replicas of entire stadiums
allowing fans to walk around and attend matches in virtual form.
Moreover :
blockchain-based fan-sharing platforms such as Zetly can reward NFTs fans
special event tickets, even small payments and financial rewards for participating.
BSV blockchain is designed to facilitate peer-to-peer
and two-way communication and engagement.
While today's Web2 social media platforms allow it to some extent
they are still limited compared to what blockchain technology can launch.
